Slack is changing how we work, creating new ways to collaborate for eight million daily active users and growing. For their first user conference, Frontiers 2017, we captured how Slack is turning the world of work upside down. Collaborating with our model shop, we built a large-scale meeting hub of inverted desks around colorful interactive demo pillars. Tactile activations including mad-lib magnets, movable LED bars, and Plinko supplemented digital case studies to deliver a memorable, hands-on experience. Interactive maps and walls connected Slack’s growing fan base of business leaders, developers, and workgroups. Dimensional steel letters, colorful banners, and a playful custom-fabricated mobile transformed Pier 27. We integrated the Frontiers brand into the entire event; everything from website development and registration to mainstage keynotes, breakouts, sponsorships, and the closing party.
