ZEISS National Sales Meeting 2018
An event location is more than just a place – it’s a representation of the brand and company culture. When ZEISS opened their new manufacturing lab outside Cincinnati, we knew we had an amazing opportunity to bring the company together to experience the hub of innovation firsthand, and recognize their part in changing their industry’s standard of quality.
For the kick-off video, we flew to Cincinnati and interviewed twenty ZEISS employees over two days to capture the story of why it’s such an exciting time to work at ZEISS. From executives to lab technicians, everyone spoke about the new levels of protection offered by ZEISS UVProtect lenses, and also about their belief in the ZEISS mission and what the company has meant for them personally. We incorporated drumming into the video to illustrate the team’s unity and quirky sense of humor. Employees across the organization drummed to the same ZEISS beat, playing along to a custom backing track and adding their own personal flare.
When we returned to Cincinnati to produce their National Sales Meeting, we showed the video to a packed house. We heard great feedback from employees, who were moved by seeing how their friends and colleagues from across the company fit together as part of a whole. After the video, the General Session kicked off with an original, high energy interactive drumming performance led by Benjamin Handel, Indiana University Drumline Director and Tony Award Winning cast member of the Broadway show BLAST! We designed conference branding that demonstrated ZEISS pride with a photo treatment showing employees at work on their home turf in their sales territories and at the lab. We celebrated the manufacturing team by producing an outdoor party at the lab, complete with games, live music, and mouth-watering Cincinnati barbecue. Lastly, ZEISS employees gave back to the community by volunteering with Habitat for Humanity’s Nailed It! Event at the Duke Energy Center, framing walls for houses. Cincinnati was the perfect place to rally everyone around the exciting innovations at ZEISS, and recognize the meaningful work being done across the company.
